A place for recent weddings, sessions, Florida locations, photography tips, and a few things I'm currently loving.
There is something special about getting married close to home.
For couples planning a Merritt Island wedding, you have the advantage of being surrounded by the water, beautiful Florida scenery, historic spaces and plenty of local character without having to travel far.
As a Merritt Island wedding photographer, I want your photographs to feel like your wedding actually felt. That means making space for the big moments while also noticing the little ones: the deep breath before the ceremony, the person who tears up during your vows, the hugs after the ceremony and the friends who somehow end up on the dance floor all night.

One of the best things about getting married on Merritt Island is the variety.
Your wedding can feel coastal, classic, relaxed, intimate or completely personal depending on your venue and plans.
Being centrally located on the Space Coast also means you are close to Cocoa, Cocoa Village, Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral and other Central Florida wedding locations.
That gives you plenty of options when it comes to choosing your ceremony and reception location, as well as places for engagement photos and portraits.
If you love the idea of getting married surrounded by water, Merritt Island has some beautiful options.
Field Manor is one local example, with historic character and a waterfront setting along the Indian River. A venue like this gives your photographs a strong sense of place, which is something I love.
Your gallery can include the architecture, the landscape, the details you chose and, most importantly, the people who were there with you.
The goal is never to make your wedding look like every other wedding photographed at the same location.
Instead, I want your gallery to show what your wedding actually looked and felt like.
One of the biggest things I want my couples to know is that I do not want photography to take over their wedding day.
There will absolutely be times when I give you direction.
I’ll organize family portraits, help you through couple portraits and keep things moving when the timeline calls for it.
But I also want to step back and let the day happen.
Because some of the photographs you end up loving most are the ones nobody could have planned.
Your dad seeing you for the first time.
Your friends laughing during cocktail hour.
The hug you shared with someone you have not seen in years.
Your grandparents watching the reception.
The person who gets a little too excited on the dance floor.
Those moments are just as much a part of your wedding story as your portraits.

Beautiful wedding photography starts before the wedding day.
Your timeline plays a huge role in how relaxed your day feels and how much variety you can have in your final gallery.
If you want getting-ready photographs, family portraits, wedding party photographs, couple portraits and reception coverage, we need to make sure there is enough time for each one.
If sunset portraits are important to you, we also need to know when the sun is setting on your actual wedding date.
That is especially important here in Florida, where the light can change quickly and outdoor weather can affect the timeline.
The goal is not to fill every minute of your day with photographs.
It is to intentionally make room for the photographs that matter most to you.

When you are looking for a wedding photographer, I recommend looking beyond a photographer’s Instagram feed.
Ask to see full wedding galleries.
Look at the getting-ready photographs.
Look at family portraits.
Look at indoor reception photographs.
Look at candid moments.
Look at photographs taken in different lighting conditions.
You want to know what your complete gallery could look like, not just the photographer’s favorite ten images.
You should also pay attention to how you feel when you communicate with your photographer.
Your photographer is going to be around for a surprisingly large part of your wedding day.
You want someone who can give you direction when you need it, keep things organized and still let you enjoy your day.

Your wedding does not have to follow a formula.
You can have the big celebration or the intimate one.
You can have a first look or wait until the ceremony.
You can spend an hour taking portraits or keep them short and get back to your guests.
You can get married on the water, in a historic space, outdoors or somewhere that simply feels like you.
My job is to help you create photographs that preserve all of it.
The beautiful portraits you’ll frame.
The little details you’ll forget you chose.
The people you were surrounded by.
And the moments you never could have planned.
If you are planning a wedding in Merritt Island, Cocoa, Cocoa Beach or anywhere across the Space Coast, I would love to hear what you are dreaming up.
