A Day in the Life of a Space Coast Photographer (Merritt Island Photographer)
Being a photographer on Florida’s Space Coast is a mix of creativity, connection, and a little bit of sand between your toes. Every day looks a little different, but that’s what makes this career so special. Here’s what a typical day looks like for me as a Merritt Island photographer capturing families, couples, seniors, and weddings across Central Florida.
Morning
My day usually starts with editing photos from recent sessions. This is when I bring images to life—color correcting, refining light, and carefully selecting the moments that best tell each client’s story. I also spend time preparing online galleries, communicating with clients, and organizing upcoming shoots to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Midday
Midday is often spent scouting locations and planning sessions. As a Merritt Island photographer, I’m constantly checking light, weather, and tides along Cocoa Beach, Jetty Park, Rotary Park, and other favorite Space Coast locations. This planning helps ensure every session has the perfect backdrop and lighting conditions.
Golden Hour
Golden hour is the heart of my work. This is when I photograph families, couples, and seniors in that soft, glowing Florida light that makes Space Coast photography so magical. Whether it’s barefoot on the beach or walking through a quiet field, these moments are always relaxed, natural, and full of emotion.
Evening
In the evening, I back up files, deliver sneak peeks, and connect with clients. I also spend time brainstorming creative ideas for future sessions, blog content, and new locations to explore.
