Ever wonder what it’s like to be a photographer on Florida’s Space Coast? Spoiler alert: it involves early mornings, sandy feet, and a lot of coffee — but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Here’s a peek behind the lens at what a typical day looks like for me as a Merritt Island photographer.
☀️ Morning: Coffee + Editing
My day starts early with editing from recent sessions — weddings, families, and sweet engagement shoots along the beach. I love reliving those moments as I fine-tune every image.
🌴 Midday: Scouting & Location Walks
When the light’s too harsh for shooting, I’ll explore new photo locations around Cocoa Beach, Jetty Park, or the riverfront. The Space Coast has so many hidden gems!
🌇 Evening: Golden Hour Magic
Most sessions happen in the late afternoon — that perfect time when the light gets soft and golden. There’s something so peaceful about watching the sun dip into the water while photographing couples or families.
🌙 Night: Prepping for Tomorrow
After a busy day, I back up my memory cards (always twice!) and make notes for upcoming shoots. Then it’s lights out — ready to do it all again tomorrow.
